Good news from Harare, ZimbabweHarare teen ministry shines ![]() In spite of the economic challenges of our country and the mass exodus of disciples to the Diaspora, God has been working in amazing ways in the church in Harare. One of the highlights of our ministry has been the teens ministry. Within a space of 12 months, God has blessed the teens ministry with 13 baptisms: 9 boys and 4 girls. Five of the guys baptised in the teens have now moved on to different universities in Harare and Bulawayo. Our Sunday classes with the teens now average an attendance of 30. We are really encouraged by the teens’ commitment to church services and the unity that exists in this ministry. There are times when they themselves help each other with transport money to come to church. Recently we had our teens’ retreat to which they invited their friends. Although we had to restrict them to one friend each, we ended up having 50 teens at camp. Twelve of those who came on the camp are studying the Bible and will be baptised soon. Every Sunday the teens bring their friends to church and after the service they study the Bible with them out of their own initiative. One of our teen girls, Helena, is an anchor on a TV programme. Three months ago, one Sunday after church, our teens were invited to the studio where they recorded a programme that was broadcast national television. It was really encouraging to hear them using this opportunity to share their faith with other teens across the country. |
