Africa/Johannesburg

The Johannesburg Church of Christ is excited to announce the 2016 South African Campus Corps entitled Encounter: South Africa. We are inviting college students from our worldwide fellowship to come to Johannesburg from July 11  - August 8, 2016 to encounter our beautiful culture, people, and South African wildlife, and more importantly, to be equipped and empowered to help the tens of thousands of university students throughout South Africa to encounter the true Jesus Christ.

This four-week program will start with serving on HOPE Worldwide projects and Ministry training from the staff of the Johannesburg Church of Christ, including congregational evangelists and women’s ministry leader Justin and Irene Renton as well as campus ministry couple Jacques and Laura Genis along with international guest speakers. The participants would then be sent out to our beautiful campuses, including the University of Pretoria, the University of Johannesburg, and the University of the Witwatersrand, for the first several weeks of our spring semester. They will spend their days evangelizing, leading Bible talks, and studying the Bible with students on campus.

Along the way we want the Encounter participants to laugh, enjoy building relationships with one another and the Johannesburg Church and to experience many of the amazing adventures that South Africa has to offer.

The church in Johannesburg will provide housing, two meals a day and transportation once the participants arrive in South Africa. We are asking those who come to provide their flight to and from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo Airport, as well as spending money for their daily lunches on campus, for a safari, and other personal expenses that might come up.

We are accepting a limited number of participants.

If you are interested in attending, please email Jacques Genis at jpgenis@yahoo.com no later than April 1st, 2016.
